Hello everyone and welcome to my first ever blog! Join me as I search for local rappers and interview them. I ask them about their lives as musicians and creators. It is interesting to know how many people start and why they started creating their own music. I personally love music and learned how to play the violin when I was in middle school. Having people share their stories and musical talents with me is something I enjoy, as well. Mostly importantly, I am happy to share it with all my readers.

My name is Crystal Martinez and I am currently a sophomore at Texas State University. Texas State is located in San Marcos, Texas but I was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. I moved to San Marcos early 2019 since I heard about the great Mass Communications program at Texas State. I am currently majoring in digital media and minoring in pop culture.

As I continue to attend school I am learning so many helpful and useful tips. Things that I have been interested in but never got the chance to learn, I am lucky enough to learn now from all my Mass Communications professors. After graduating, I am hoping to find a job in the media or journalism field.

Currently, though, I live with my three roommates and my lovely cat. I adopted Blizzy from the local animal shelter when my first official school year started at Texas State. I also have an amazing boyfriend who I’ve been with for almost 2 years.
